Prof. Hui Liu

Vice Dean of Scool of Traffic & Transportation Engineering

Central South University

Hui Liu, Professor, Chang Jiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, and Deputy Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering at Central South University, specializes in interdisciplinary research in AI, robotics, big data, and transportation equipment. He is a globally recognized Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher and Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Scholar, honored with awards such as the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) Award for Outstanding International Engineers. Holding dual Ph.D.s and a German Habilitation in Robotics, he has received the World Internet Conference Leading Technology Award and the Springer Nature China New Development Award as lead researcher. He has authored over 100 papers, 5 monographs, and holds more than 100 international patents. He has led over 10 key projects, including four NSFC grants.

Prof. Tao Liu

 Southwest Jiaotong University

Tao Liu is a professor at Southwest Jiaotong University. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Beijing Jiaotong University and received his doctorate from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has conducted research at the TUMCREATE joint research center of Technical University of Munich and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, as well as at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Tao Liu currently serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the 10th Transportation Systems Engineering Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering, a member of the Technical Committee for Integrated Transportation Supply and Demand Analysis of the World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems, the subject editor for public transportation of the journal Journal of Transportation Engineering and Information, an editorial board member in the sustainable transportation field of the International Journal of Sustainable Energy, associate editor of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, and editorial board member for journals including Transportation Systems Engineering and Information and Journal of Advanced Transportation. He was selected for the “Hong Kong Scholars Program,” the “Chuying Scholar” program at Southwest Jiaotong University, and recognized as a high-level overseas returnee talent of Sichuan Province.

His main research areas include public transportation and urban rail transit, multimodal transportation collaborative organization, and the integration of artificial intelligence with transportation development. Tao Liu has led several national and provincial-level research projects, including General and Young Scientist Fund projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the “China-Europe Talent” program for international cooperation, and the Ministry of Education’s “Chunhui Plan” collaborative research project. He has authored one academic monograph published by Springer Nature and published over 80 papers, some of which have been included in ESI highly cited papers and the “F5000—China’s Top 5000 Excellent Scientific and Technological Papers.” He holds 10 authorized invention patents and 5 software copyrights. His scientific and technological innovation achievements have been awarded the First Prize of the China Highway and Transportation Society Science and Technology Award and the China Intelligent Transportation Society Science and Technology Award.
